Hi! This is a bit about me…

Hi! My name is Adrianna and started this blog and social media account in order to express my passion for books and reading. I want to tell you a bit about myself.

I grew up in Poland and moved to the Netherlands in my early teens. That is when I learnt English and slowly got super into reading. Like for most ‘readers’, my imagination is very vivid so books enable me to watch movies in my head, except everything is HBO quality and better. When I didn’t yet understand everything I was reading, my mind would fill the gaps and help me understand text better.

In school, I slowly went from basic English classes, all the way to Higher level literature (IB kids say ayyy). That is when I really fell in love with reading stories and analysing their meaning and quality. I wasn’t very good at it, but I think I got better with practice over the years.

I tried studying literature in university, where I discovered its simply not for me (linguistics killed me inside). This led to my passion also dying a little. Over the past two years I got back into it and discovered new books and… book communities on Tiktok and Instagram. I never actively participated, but always wanted to.

So, I decided it’s time to make my teenage dreams come true by starting this blog and finding a community to share my passion with. I hope some of you reading will stick around and see the value in what I will write, starting with book reviews and ending on random bookish content.

My high school English teacher asked me at the beginning of my final years, if I am a ‘reader’, when I doubted my abilities to join her class. I said yes, not knowing what I was agreeing to, but my fate was then sealed as a ‘reader’ forever.
